Celebrating 36 Years of Excellence! American Ambulance Service has proudly been in existence since June of 1972. Based in Norwich, Connecticut, the company began with two used ambulances and Ron Aliano’s dream to provide high quality EMS care. This dream started on New London Turnpike operating out of the back of a service station. As a testimonial to both Ron Aliano and American Ambulance Service’s high standards and dedication, the company still employs a number of the staff that signed on to be part of this quest in the ‘70’s. The journey continued in 1981 when American Ambulance moved to 101 West Main Street as its fleet expanded to include five state-of-the-art vehicles. American Ambulance again relocated in 1986 to its current contemporary building with panoramic views overlooking The Marina at American Wharf and the Thames River. This iconic building with its futuristic architecture is a modern-day landmark in the city. Another benchmark in the history of American Ambulance Service occurred on April 6, 1998. American Ambulance became the exclusive EMS provider for the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and Foxwoods Resort Casino, the largest casino in the world! Expanding again, on May 12, 2008 American Ambulance began serving the illustrious MGM Grand at Foxwoods. "Dedicated, Professional People Committed to Excellence, Caring For YOU." This motto not only dictates how American Ambulance serves the population but also how it strives to serve the employees as well. To this aspiration, American Ambulance Service provides up-to-date options in health care, retirement plans, educational opportunities and training for its employees. The organization is constantly searching for ways to enrich the benefits and careers of the employees whom it serves. Ron Aliano’s quest perseveres.
